![]() ![]() But as you know, it is just never enough. I feel like I owe all of you money for all of the help you have been giving me. What will setting up a custom resolution do for me? Will that get me full screen? I looked at settin up a custom resolution, but the NVIDIA warning about damaging the monitor scared me away. From top to bottom about 5/8 of an inch, but at least I am in. It is not using all of the desk top "real estate" in this resolution at the sides of the display, there is about 2 and 1/2 inches at each side. I have tried both ways, and maybe it is just me but the graphics seem clearer/smoother in SLI. I have never heard of 1715x1053, additionally it is forcing me into "windowed" mode, when I check it in the in game graphics setup menu. OK, on the right track, this is what works in the config.ini: Remember, don't change the menu settings again.įor comparison here is my conf.ini settings for the screen So set up the settings in the menu that you want, then close the game (if I remember correctly you can't change the conf.ini while the game is running), set your screen res in conf. However you can overcome this by using the conf.ini settings, BUT if you alter your conf.ini and then change the menu settings your altered settings are reset. It can be quite tricky to set up your screen resolution as it is a 10 year old game and the menu has never been updated to take account of modern gfx cards or bigger monitors. You all have had great input up to now, is there some magical combination in the config file that I am missing. I seem to be at the point where I am chasing my tail. SHOULD, the WIDTH and HEIGHT in the CONFIG FILE match my desktop resolution? Or should it match the resolution that I am going to run the program in? I would like to run the program at 1600x1200 32 BIT, FULL SCREEN. When I select FULL SCREEN in the game menu I go back to square one. In the end the best that I can get is my monitor from left to right about 80% covered. NOW, I have the mouse working, got rid of the intro, and have been playing with the WINDOWS adjustments. 64 BIT SVC PAK 1, NVIDIA GFORCE GTS 250X2. I am sure that the fix is a simple one, especially after reading so many posts on how well th program runs off STEAM in Windos 7. I can not find any kind of set up folder that allows me to make any adjustments so that I can run this program. The problem is however, that the MAIN MENU screen is being presented at about 800圆00, ADDITIONALLY, the MAIN MENU is OFF CENTER, so that you cannot see the right side of the MAIN MENU, (HARDWARE SET UP ETC) and the mouse CURSOR DISAPPEARS so that you can not recenter MAIN MENU or USE the mouse AT ALL. When I launch the program either using the STEAM ICON or the Desktop icon the program begins plays the intro and then takes me to the "MAIN MENU" tab. I have downloaded 1946 and installed on a WINDOWS7 64 BIT system. The download went fine, but the below describes my new reason for wailing and gnashing of teeth. So, I tried to get a dwnload from UBI, but fo some reason it would not let me. ![]() I'm hoping it won't be a issue. The SAGA continues. Can't seem to find a FOV fix for the latest patch. I'm going to copy my back up of the config file for the 4.12 install and try to set-up the three display again thru the game settings( didn't realize the latest version supported wide screen set-ups) The only issue I have is with FOV ( looking into sans FOV Mod as well as other possible solutions) Once I adjusted the Config file, My 4.11 install works as it should with my three display set-up. (The HSFX isn't compatible with the latest patch yet. One patched to 4.12.1 and the other 4.11.1 with HSFX. You could try updating, patch order and download links to v4.12.1 are available at I actually have two versions of the game on my computer. Unless you have some special reason to keep IL2 at an earlier version (online server compatibility would be one reason), the latest version now supports widescreen natively. ![]()
